GRATITUDE - House Guidelines

Some facts about GRATITUDE and some basic Guidelines for guests because it is also our home & we really want to retain the peaceful atmosphere that this house radiates.

-All rooms are air conditioned. We generally do not get power cuts in this part of town so we don't have a generator. We do have a powerful battery back-up for fans & lights IN CASE there is a power cut.
-All rooms have attached bathrooms with hot and cold water. Room # 6 has a bathtub as well. Rooms 1-6 have hot water showers while Rooms 7 & 8 have hot water bucket baths.
-We serve breakfast from 8.30 to 9.30 am. There are many wonderful restaurants within 5 minutes walk from the house and we suggest you try them out for your other meals. You can also order in from these restaurants. Take a look at our eating out page...
-There is a complimentary tea/coffee facility in the dining hall round the clock. 
-There is a library from where you can borrow books on various topics and we also have indoor games like scrabble, chess etc.
-There are NO televisions in any room. You are welcome to use your laptops but please use headphones with them.
-Mobile phones & laptops should be kept in vibration or silent modes or at a very low volume.
-We do have free Internet (wi-fi) and use of telephone for making local calls. However, as it is a common wifi, it is not hi- speed.
-You can stay out at night as long as you wish but make sure that the night guard knows you are out and waits up for you so that you don't have to ring the calling bell.
-If you must smoke, you will have to step outside the house or go up to the assigned spot on the terrace.
-Food and drinks are definitely not allowed in the rooms but you are welcome to use the common areas. If you need crockery & cutlery, please ask.
-All footwear has to be left at the shoe racks near the entrance. We do provide alternate footwear in the rooms.
-If you are staying for more than 2 nights, as soon as you check in, you will be requested to unpack and put away your belongings in the cupboards provided and we will store your empty luggage away. This will keep your rooms clean and give you more space. You can have your luggage back the day you check out.
-We love children and their free spirit so we believe it would be unfair on them to ask them to stay quiet. Hence we do not encourage guests with children who can/may/will be noisy. Please do not request us to bend the rules on this issue.
-We will organise local taxis for you and give you tips on local sightseeing
  (if you want...).
-There is pure dynamised drinking water in the kitchen and you are welcome to help yourself. The kitchen however, is not for common use. 
-There is a common refrigerator in the dining room which guests can use.
-There is no room service of any kind but your rooms will be cleaned every day and if you need anything specific, you will have to ask.
-There is an in-house laundry and clothes are washed on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is a nominal charge for the laundry.
-Bed linen will be changed once in 5 days and towels once in 3 days unless there is a specific request. This is to conserve water and in keeping with our eco- conservation principals.
-If you wish to leave any tips for the staff, please drop it in the collection box and we can distribute it equally amongst all.
-Yoga mats are available on the terrace.
-Rejuvenating massage is available on request & prior booking on extra payment of Rs.1200/- for one hour.
-Check-in time is 12 noon, check-out time is 11am...for more details of various arrival or departure times, please see the TARIFF page.
-After you have checked the Tariff if you want to go ahead and make a booking request, please go to HOW TO BOOK and fill up the attached form with your details and email it to us.
We will respond within a day and let you know about the availabilities for the dates that you have requested..
