Before You Book 


Gratitude is not your typical hotel. We do our best to represent ourselves and the house faithfully.

Please ensure you have taken a close look at the room pictures/details before beginning the booking process.

Booking and payment is considered an agreement to our House Guidelines and Terms of Service detailed below.

Children below the age of 13 are traditionally not accommodated in order to maintain the harmony and serenity of the ambience at Gratitude.
Exceptions have been made in the past upon agreement with the parents, if you'd like book with a child please contact us directly on email gratitudeheritagehome@gmail.com

House Guidelines

In order to retain the special home-like quality, we request that you go through our House Guidelines because GRATITUDE is NOT a hotel. We do want to ensure that the reality meets YOUR expectation and that can only happen if you know what to expect.

-All rooms are air conditioned and have attached bathrooms.
-We generally do not get power cuts in this part of town so we don't have a generator. We do have a powerful battery back-up for fans & lights IN CASE there is a power cut.
-All rooms have attached bathrooms with hot and cold water. Room # 6 has a bathtub as well.
-Drinking water from our In-house RO system is provided in earthen pitchers in the rooms. We do not use plastic bottles.
-Bathrooms are equipped with Fresh towels, soap bar, liquid hand wash, shampoo and conditioner. We also provide brass buckets with home-made Natural Scrub for a relaxed bucket bath (the Indian way).
-Rooms have cotton dressing gowns and rubber chappals (all sanitized after each use).
-Rooms do not have individual Tea Trays. This facility is available 24x7 in the main Dining Hall
-Safe deposit lockers are available in the rooms.
-There are NO TELEVISIONS in any room.
-Free Wifi is available in each room.
-Rooms are cleaned every day and Bed linen is changed once in 4 days and towels once in 3 days unless there is a specific request. This is to conserve water and in keeping with our eco- conservation principals

-We serve breakfast from 8.30 to 10.00 am. Please let us know if you want to come down later than that.
-We do provide home-cooked meals for lunch and dinner on prior request and additional payment.
-There is a complimentary tea/coffee facility in the dining hall round the clock
- PLEASE DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN THE ROOMS. If you order in, feel free to help yourself to crockery and cutlery and wine glasses from the kitchen and use the Dining Hall. However, the kitchen is not available to guests for cooking.
-There is a common refrigerator in the dining room which guests can use.
-There is no room service of any kind. 

As is the tradition in India, we request all guests to take off their outer wear shoes at the main door and leave it on the racks. We provide indoor footwear in the rooms. You can use your own indoor footwear or socks.

-We love children and their free spirit so we believe it would be unfair on them to ask them to stay quiet. Hence we do not encourage guests with children who can/may/will be noisy. Please do not request us to bend the rules on this issue.

-We believe that to feel at home, you need to unpack and put away your suitcases. So if you are staying for more than 2 nights, as soon as you check in, you will be requested to unpack and put away your belongings in the cupboards provided and we will store your empty luggage away. This will keep your rooms clean and give you more space. You can have your luggage back the day you check out.

-Personal in-house laundry is done on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is a nominal charge for this.
-We have a Massage Room and both Male and Female masseuse available on call for Full body relaxing massage. Ask at the Front desk.
-Yoga Mats are available on the terrace.
-Library and Indoor games available
-We will organise airport pick ups/drop offs and other local travel support
-GRATITUDE guests can use the Pool at our other house (Kariappa House) for a nominal charge. 

-If you must smoke, you will have to step outside the house or go up to the assigned spot on the terrace.
-If you have friends visiting you, you are welcome to use the common sitting areas/lounge or the terrace. 

We do not have a 24 hour Reception desk and after 7pm (when the front office shuts) there is a Guard on duty until 7am when the kitchen opens. 
-You can stay out at night as long as you wish but make sure that the night guard knows you are out and waits up for you so that you don't have to ring the calling bell.
-If you need any help after 7pm, ask the Guard.
--Check-in time is 12 noon, check-out time is 11am...for more details of various arrival or departure times, please see the Terms and Conditions page.

-While we have CCTV cameras covering all external areas of the house, you will be responsible for your own belongings in the rooms. Cupboards are p[rovided with keys.
-Please do NOT tip the staff individually as there are several behind the scene who may not be visible. Please ask for an envelop at the Front Desk and drop it in the box at the entrance.

Reception Timings: 9.00am - 7.30pm if you are arriving outside these times or need early or late check-in/out please let us know via email.
CANCELLATION & NO SHOW POLICY/REFUND POLICY
All Refunds listed below exclude any transaction charges or taxes already paid on the transaction as those are irrecoverable by us.
More than 45 days from Check-In: 0% Penalty, Full Refund*
Between 30 - 44 days from Check-In: 25% Penalty, 75% Refund*
Between 15-29 days from Check-In: 50 % Penalty, 50% Refund*
Less than 15 days from Check-In: 100% Penalty, No Refund*
Any review/reconsideration of above cancellation/refund terms will be at the discretion of the management based on specific situations and occupancy level during booking period.

Please note that all as per Government security regulations, we are required to collect Guest information in given format along with ID proof (passport & visa for foreigners, driving licence/PAN card/Voter card for Indians) prior to check-in.
Since we do not have a 24hr front desk, guests are requested to pay in full prior to check-in.
Refunds due to any break-down or absence of service is discretionary and based on merits.
We reserve the right of admission.
